Cervinia Ski Resort Guide & Piste Map
Cervinia Resort Description
Cervinia is a ski resort town that is located on the Italian side of the Matterhorn, Cervinia is lift-linked to Zermatt, with 200km of its own runs. Built with the express purpose of being a ski resort in the 1960s, the town lacks the picturesque charm that many other resorts lay claim to, but the incredible views from every angle of the majestic Matterhorn more than makes up for the lack of charm in the town.
The skiing is predominately suited to beginners and intermediates with kilometre after kilometre of wide open piste with an incredible vertical drop of 1,956 m., advanced skiers can find some interesting runs particularly down towards Valtournenche.
The city center is lined with bars and restaurants, and also offers lively après ski, including the Garage, which has minibuses to drop you home at the end of the night. There is also a great range of small Italian boutiques in town for those who need a shopping fix. Other activities include Parapenting, Ice Skating, Snowshoeing, and a Heated Outdoor Pool.
