In the midst of Hohe Tauern National Park and in the heart of Salzburg province lies Bad Gastein. It is located at the head of the Gastein valley, about 1,000 metres (3,280 ft.) above sea level.
The Austrian ski resort of Bad Gastein is part of the Gastein Ski Area with access to 178 individual pistes, with pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.Its slopes are impressively extensive, and mainly quite challenging great for intermediates who are happy on real red runs
Bad Gastein has more sophisticated après ski than many resorts and the world renowned skiing includes many delightful wooded trails.
