Gstaad is a beautiful village comprising of picturesque alpine chalets; Gstaad is a world famous resort, Gstaad has a selection of ritzy shops and boutiques in an area of 250kms of pistes. Twenty minutes away from Gstaad by train is the attractive village of Château d'Oex full of charm and character, with a world wide reputation for its hot air balloon festival at the end of January. There is skiing throughout the valley from the nearby villages of Saanen, Schonried and Saanenmoser, as well as Gstaad and Château d'Oex and all are linked by rail and bus. The terrain at Gstaad is varied to suit all standards of skiers and snowboarders and a full area lift pass also gives access to the Diablerets glacier, Villars and Leysin ski areas.
