With wide, sunny nursery slopes and 180 kms of varied pistes, the combined resorts of Risoul and Vars are particularly ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers.
Risoul is built on a mountainside plateau and has wonderful panoramic views of the valley below, while Vars is situated on the other side of the Pic de Chabrieres. Both resorts offer good value for money and boast 300 days of sunshine a year.
Beginners will start off at village level, where there are two drag lifts and some gentle green runs. From there, progression to the chairlift and gondola lifts opening up the area will be quick. Intermediates will find there is a huge choice of runs, above and below the tree line, and a number of wide open snow bowls above both villages. Advanced skiers have a choice of eleven black pistes, and plenty of off-piste skiing is available, best explored with a local ski guide. Alternatively, try the famous speed ski run! Snowboarders will be in their element here. There is a superb snowboard park in Risoul, whose many attractions include some interesting jumps. In the evenings, there are regular night-time snowboard jump competitions.
Vars Apres Ski:

Avec de larges pistes ensoleillées sur plus de 180km, les stations de Risoul et Vars sont particulièrement idéales pour les skieurs débutants et intermédiaires.
Risoul est construit sur un plateau à flanc de montage et offre une vue panoramique absolument splendide sur la vallée, tandis que Vars est situé de l’autre coté du Pic de Chabrières.
Les deux stations ont un bon rapport qualité-prix et disposent en moyenne de 300 jours ensoleillés par an.
Les débutants pourront ainsi skier au niveau du village, où il y a deux téléskis et quelques pistes vertes peu pentues. Les skieurs intermédiaires pourront quant à eux trouver un large choix de pistes, au dessus et en dessous de la ligne des arbres. Les skieurs les plus avancés ont le choix entre onze pistes noires, et la possibilité de faire du ski hors-piste.Quant aux snowboardeurs, ils se sentiront ici comme chez eux. Il y a un snowboard park fabuleux à Risoul, avec des sauts de nuit réguliers.
La station de Vars est une station au caractère très français qui comprend de nombreux magasins, bars, restaurants et boites de nuit pour des soirées conviviales. Vous pouvez également y pratiquer des activités autres que le ski (fitness, patinage sur glace, vols en hélicoptère...).
