Champery Resort Description Champéry is a municipality in the district of Monthey in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. The village is situated on 1050meters/3445 feet on the feet of the Dents du Midi and the Dents Blanches. It is one of the oldest tourist destinations in Switzerland. The ski resort is part of the Portes du Soleil Ski Area with access to 423 individual pistes, served by 209 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Champéry itself (165km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Portes du Soleil ski resorts. It is a large resort that offers skiers an incredible 1237 metres (4058 feet) of vertical descent. Champéry has 1665 acres of terrain over 58 pistes. The area is best suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for both expert and intermediates. There are 10 kilometers (6 miles) of cross country ski trails.
