Skiing in Val Thorens The skiing here is perfect for everyone, from nervous beginners looking for accommodating greens to extreme skiers chasing off-piste powder. Intermediates who just enjoy cruising whilst enjoying spectacular high mountain scenery won't be disappointed either. There is a snowpark for boarders, complete with half pipe and boarder cross, whilst those seeking views should enjoy the peak of the Cime du Caron at 3200m. From Val Thorens you have easy access to the entire Three Valleys area, which is home to 600km of pistes, and is considered one of the best and largest ski areas in the world. It contains a staggering 52 green runs, 128 blue, 123 red and 33 black, not to mention endless off-piste opportunities and some really wonderful scenery. The resort As a good all-rounder resort, Val Thorens has something for everyone away from the slopes. Children are very well catered for, with a host of shows and events put on for them, along with some good ski schools, swimming pool, ice rink, sledging slope and play area. Activities available to all include paragliding and showshoeing, whilst the fantastic sports centre offers everything from basketball to saunas. There are plenty of shops in the resort, linked by a network of malls, whilst the choice of restaurants both on and off the pistes is large.
